VOLUNTEERING
Can you spare
an hour to help?
VOLUNTEERING
Meet Christine
This is Christine, she regularly volunteers at our Wednesday morning craft group.
Our volunteers are vital to us, allowing us to offer a wider range of activities and support. They help in so many ways from fundraising and befriending to overseeing the governance of our charity as Trustees on our board.
Volunteering is also a great opportunity for personal development, we provide full training and induction for all of our volunteers and you will be welcomed warmly.
VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
We currently need help in the following areas
Befriending
Our befriending service currently supports 150 vision impaired people and the demand for this service is constantly growing. We are keen to recruit volunteers who can spare around an hour per week to either visit someone in their home to provide companionship or to assist with day to day tasks such as shopping, reading post or supporting with trips out.
We also offer telephone befriending and run coffee mornings which require support from volunteers.
Skills:
– Ability to empathise
– Punctuality and reliability
